Celery-It's Many Fantastic Benefits-Recipe

chlorophyll so amazing
Buy green celery for its chlorophyll; make sure the ribs are firm and crispy looking. A friend recommends putting it in a tall container with a little water touching roots which you need to freshen so often and that it will even grow new tops so I am trying that now but I have always taken my celery out of the bag, turn it inside out, wash it and the celery after cutting the roots off; wash with a foam kitchen soap. I use lemon always because it kills onion and garlic odors and the soap rinses off really well.
There is much about celery not being safe unless it is organic but I haven’t been sick with it yet doing this. I wash rubbing the stalks separately two to three times rinsing in between, especially well the last time and I also wash the bag it came in this way and with little draining I put it back and it stays crisp and good at least a couple of weeks. This really doesn't take but about ten minutes. When I use it I don’t wash it again but I rinse it again real well just before using. It is claimed wilted celery can be revived put back in cold water a few hours in the fridge to make it crunchy again but I have yet to try that. I just make potato soup, wilted works fine there. Remember also to barely cut off the bottom of the roots (one big core); don't dared to throw away, wash it well too and use it in a vegetable stock. Even if you do not like celery which at one time I did not, I always loved the smell and flavor and with vegetable stock you get that, only the good flavors. Now I love celery raw or cooked and I think knowing the benefits helps and I think of all the different ways to fix it and if you don't like it put it in things where you simple do not notice it, such as soups cooked or fruit salad, raw.
Chlorophyll is what makes the green pigmentation in plants and absorbs energy from the sun to help photosynthesis in plants. Chlorophyll is a plants blood you might say, being important as growth and respiration.
The essential atom in chlorophyll is magnesium, which is something I really need because food is the only way I can handle it. Celery creates its own "pesticide" to defend itself from fungi. This is called psoralens that although it protects the celery, may not be tolerable to some people if you are sensitivity to psoralens {a toxic substance, C 1 1 H 6 O 3} found in certain plants, including parsnips. It may lower blood pressure for some so having low blood going even lower, so if you have low blood pressure I would not recommend this for you. I will add a recipe that makes my pressure drop 30 points and that may just be the death of someone with low pressure so do take note of that. Ones with high pressure may want to add it regular to their diet. I do for that reason and I have come to love it.
Chlorophyll provides health benefits to most who take them. There are anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. It helps in the growth and repair of tissues, has magnesium to help blood in carrying oxygen to all cells and tissues. It has been proven to have good possibility in stimulating red blood cells to better oxygen supply; an effective deodorizer to rid bad breath, urine, fecal waste, and body odor. (Wow) Now you know what to make for those friends that may have this problem, huh? With other vitamins such as A, C and E, chlorophyll is known to help neutralize free radicals that do damage to healthy cells. It can be used to treat infected wounds naturally. With antimutagenic and anti-carcinogenic properties so that it may be helpful in protecting your body against toxins and in reducing drug side effects.
The only obvious chlorophyll sources are green leafy plants. However, cooking destroys much of the chlorophyll. If you want to enjoy these benefits of chlorophyll, it is best to get your regular supply through chlorophyll supplements. Chlorophyll extracts, liquid solutions and tablets are generally obtainable from local drug and health stores. In liquid or tablet form, their benefits allow you to have a stronger immune system, tissues and organs, and physically healthy body and life.
I use a blender (to get all the fiber) and take a brush and celery (3 stalks) and scrub again under running water or use knife or fingernails to rid any sights not pure looking, Pour about a pint or more of apple cider (I prefer- it is great for pain!) or apple juice, this is your recipe however you want to make it, but the main concern here is the juice of three celery stalks to lower the pressure. I chop one large carrot in this and a large squirt of honey (this I use to make sure all slides down easily in case something has not liquefied but it with the carrot makes a wonderful nourishing drink and you can be helping your eyesight while you are at it! The recipe I found said drink this every day for one week and off three weeks, on a week etc, I do not understand the why of this so I will research and get back on here with that, I just want to let anyone with high blood pressure in on this knowing myself what a scary and dangerous thing may can be helped with a drink so good angels could have made it. That is with the fresh apple cider (not fermented!), 1 large carrot (chopped), 4 reg or 3 large celery stalks (chopped) and a squirt of honey which is optional, I wish I could bottle it and sell it, it is fabulous! In blender 3 to 4 minutes. I make enough for a large glass three days. I usually put in quart jars equally and fill to the top with more cider or juice; cap and shake.
Prevent Cancers and Then Some
Celery Juice
High amounts of vitamin A are in celery leaves, stems are an excellent source of vitamins C, B1, B2, and B6 with rich amounts of potassium, folic acid, magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and many necessary amino acids.
The fiber here aids in bowel movements. The organic salt in celery is safe for eating, and is also necessary for the body. So if you like I am watching and limiting salt you can safely take what is in celery, unlike table salt being dangerous for those with high blood pressure.
Nutrients during cooking hold up pretty well with cooking, and besides aiding in blood pressure celery is so unbelievably helpful in so many other things. Some include fighting cancer containing at least eight relations of anti-cancer compounds. Juice of celery has many important minerals, proven to lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol, also supplanting lost electrolytes and rehydrates the body with rich minerals.
It has phenolic acids which block the action of prostaglandins that promote the growth of tumor cells. Some are the acetylenics having shown to stop the growth of tumor cells. For colon and stomach cancer phytochemical coumarins stop the forming of the colon and stomach cancers.
It has a laxative effect to help relieve constipation. It helps to normalize body temperatures, performs as a diuretic so for that I will add my celery seed in a salad with celery or the juice in a dressing. You can expect many more healing benefits from celery juice as you consume its natural sodium. It is credited for breaking up urinary stones.
Who would guess in celery is an incredible relief for all inflammation such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, asthma and bronchitis. It is certainly a vegetable at the top of my list but I have not once thought to juice it. Tomorrow I do!
It encourages healthy, normal kidney function by aiding ridding of toxins from the body that also stops formation of kidney stones. This diuretic effect of celery juice also aids the breaking and elimination of urinary and gall bladder stones.
For the lowering of blood pressure it is suggested drinking celery juice every day for a week to greatly help lower blood pressure from a compound called phtalides helping relax the muscle around arteries, dilating the vessels and allowing blood to move through normally then stop for three weeks, and start over. I plan to try that.
For the nervous system it is said minerals in celery juice has a calming result on the nervous system, also helping with insomnia. Drinking the juice throughout the day can stop cravings for sweets. Probably not as good for you as the juice but I love to take low fat or fat free cream cheese and mix diced pineapple in natural juices for a great healthy snack with Pineapple having some important benefits too.
I just want to let anyone with high blood pressure in on this knowing myself what a scary and dangerous thing may can be helped with a drink so good angels could have made it. Wow so much useful information about celery! Word on the farm is that celery is the dirtiest vegetable but like you I've never gotten sick from not eating non-organic celery. Thanks for ALL the useful data!!!
What a great and very useful article. I love the flavour of celery and was unaware of its many benefits. I shall try now to incorporate it in my diet rather more than I do now.
Yes very true. I despair with the number of listed or unlisted ingredients on the cartons of bought products.
This is a really interesting article. I am excited to try out some of your recipe ideas -- especially given all the potential health benefits!
I love the pictures, the recipes and the information...great and rated up.
I love this new look on celery! An overlooked little veggie!

Wow Jackie - that's a lot of useful info on celery. I'm going to eat it even more now. I put my green vegetables into the mix last so that I don't overcook them; I think I'll hold back the celery too.
Very useful hub, packed with info. Up and useful.
