I Saw Spring

Pendula - Heavenly aroma
The wind is howling in my ear;
a storm I fear will soon begin
Will it bring snow or ice to freeze
the fantasy I have been in?
No winter have I seen this year
though some days just a little cool
No snow has coated even the sides
of roadways or melted in a pool
I suppose a part of me does miss the
thoughts of being snow home bound
With fantastic aromas of home baked
bread and hot soup drifting ‘round
I have played after summer this year,
through fall and no winter have I seen
Snapping photos through the autumn
leaves until all the trees were clean
Waiting for the holidays that bring
the cold and snow to my home town
By now there should be much; I should
look out and see a white flowing gown
Covering the earth all around me and
the homes and all the cars that go by
Yet every day I get to run and play
outside almost afraid to wonder why
All of a sudden I see a bud when
January has hardly come to an end
Does Mother Nature not take a rest
before her glory she again will send?
It worries me some when things change
so; but I can’t help but be delighted
When I see the swelling of the flowering
bushes and the trees; I get excited
Knowing it could mean winter weather
may show up suddenly so very cold
To freeze Spring's beautiful budding
flowers before they can get very old
Then will all her lovely flowers be hidden
again for at least another year?
Or will she still be allowed to open up her
buds again; when summer is near?
Even with the risk she takes to show
her beauties out on a limb so soon
I cannot help but be so thrilled and
try my best to be with her by noon
Just when the heat of the day and the
sun will pull open a colorful flower
I will be right there in the sunshine
with her in that most perfect hour
Watching the opening of her daffodils
that has special meaning in my heart
I thank Spring for this beauty I only lately
appreciate; for its lovely play in art
Chancing upon her pendulum and pine
with such aroma so very heavenly
It took a long while to pull myself away;
no greater perfume exists; than this to me
Magnolias budded first as with cotton
balls and then bloomed out so wide
Like a southern bell sleeping snugly in
a cocoon and then she walks outside
Whatever happens to Spring I have
certainly enjoyed this long winter ride
I have so much proof she was here; and
know I saw Spring…she could never hide

Eddy.
Perfect and the photos are fantastic! once again perfect
Wonderful poetry and photos that have me longing for the first breath of warmer, spring air:) Voted up and beautiful.
This is beautiful Jackie. Spring is not visible here in Michigan at all yet. In fact it looks more like winter today than it has all winter. Aren't the seasons wonderful though? They always give us something to look forward to. I enjoyed your beautiful pictures also. Stay blessed.
Beautiful poem. I think spring is trying so hard to come early here in central Texas. Then it turns cold and the little buds are like..."Are you kidding me? I was just going to bloom!" Thanks for sharing,
Sunnie
Jackie, beautiful poetry, your words describe Mother Natures beauty in it's finest. Very nice . The photo's are very good and show the splendor of Her works. You are not only a great poet you are also a great photographer.
Spring is the season of renewal. The sense of spring in the composition is overwhelming. Beautiful pictures and wonderful poem.
Stunning photographs! Feels like spring at this page. Great poetry. A beautiful, well done hub!
Enjoyed it. Mildest winter here, too. Send a copy to Santorum who still has doubts about Global Warming!
Beautiful Jackie. Oh I can telly you are kinda worried that the snow will come suddenly and ruin the beauty that is Spring. I love the photos!
Very nice Hub, Jackie!
Living in S. Fl. , thank goodness we don't have severe winters although we do get some cold. Your photos and poem were outstanding in this Hub; beautiful.
I really enjoyed your poem...read it 3 times. So beautiful, and the pics are awesome!
Jackie--this is beautiful--I worry when winter doesn't really set in---although today was cold and wet and blustery!
Hi Jackie, absolutely stunning! I loved the photos and the poem could have been written about the UK.
A wonderful start to my day, thank you and voting up.
Best wishes Lesley
I've got no spring where i live, I've got no snow or no autumn to. You are blessed to see all four seasons and me to see our two. Isn't God awesome one world, different climate, different languages, people, times etc. Only GOD can do that!!
By the way i love everyone of your photos they are so LOVELY. Beautiful place you live in.
Have a bless week Jackie.
Hi again Jackie, I loved your hub so much it inspired me to take a walk with my camera! I'm just going to check out my photos now, hopefully there might be enough for a hub!
Best wishes Lesley
Wow! This has to be the best hub I have read and viewed in the last few weeks! Wonderful, thought-provoking words and fantastic photos!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful hub!
A beautiful poem. The pictures are great. Voted up.
Very beautiful poem. I really enjoyed your photos as well.
Jackie, It's been a mild winter here; last week the daffodils appeared, and then a few days later out of the blue sky a light flurry of snowflakes fell and melted before they touched ground. I'm seeing and smelling spring; it's in the air.
Your lovely poem and photos certainly should encourage spring to stay. Love your last line, which says it all: "I saw Spring…she could never hide."
I have never experience a storm thank God for that. Some how whenever storm or hurricane is to hit my country the LORD let the winds divert ;)Grateful for that, how ever we still get the tempest of the sea it rages when other islands have a storm. I see the rainbow often
So well-written and fantastic photographs. Voted up and beautiful.
This was so lovely! your photos really brought Spring to life, especially the flowers on the tree! beautiful! and your poem was gorgeous! rated up! made me feel so much better, as I have got da floo! haha (sniff)!
The pictures you took say it all. Then I read each line and your poem got better and better.I love the both together.Very special and nature is very close to my heart.I don't miss the snow and nature has a way of bouncing back.Rated up.
pictures are very beautiful and increasing the beauty of your interesting poem.
I loved the first picture because it reminds me how magnificient trees are with the sky as their closest friend. Then I loved the tenth picture because it gave color to tree as if they compimented each other as if they were both one.Wouldn't be great if every tree produced all different colorful flowers?I live with many Oak and Pine trees.
Beautiful photos and great poem. Well written, of course! : )
the trees kiss the new golden sky,
that gleaming snow lay close by,
the buds slowly blossomed with pink,
the snow melted to water, it sink,
That is what i got out of your poem, i hope i am right.
I am glad I am following you!!! You are a great photographer and impressive with emotions described through the written word! Lovely :)
I was hoping for more then 'close enough' but if that is the best i can get out of it, let it be.
Wow.....I love your poem and all breathtaking pictures. Spring always beautiful and I can't wait to see this season soon. Good job, my friend. My vote always for you. Cheers....
Love and peace,
Jackie, I too look forward to spring. Good work, my friend!
Jackie, this really is a lovely combination of words and photos. We've had a similar winter (or lack thereof) teasing nature into an early spring. I'm not complaining, though. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece. Voted up and awesome.

God Bless. Take care, Kamalesh
Awesome photography and I so appreciate the writing... what a blessed read this morning.

Impressive photography. I especially love the very first photo. Exquisite!
Your poem is quite nice. The weather may have tricked Mother Nature this year and that can turn tragic for plant life. We will have to wait and see.
Thank you for the delightful poem and the superb pictures. I enjoyed the journey. :-)
Came here after reading Movie Master's spring hub that was inspired by this one.
Loved the poem which expressed my thoughts as winter has been practically non-existent where I am this year.
Also loved your stunning photos. Voted up across the board except for funny.
Wow what stunning photography and equally stunning words. Voting up and pressing your buttons too.
Gorgeous photos loved them. Your poem is very beautiful. voted up and beautiful, Joyce.
Beautiful and masterful Jackie. Photos too. A perfect one to share.
Awesome photographs and a beautiful poem.
We are so lucky to enjoy all these different seasons. Winter and Spring are two of my favourites. You describe your 'life-experience' very beautifully, which I could not resist to admire.
Voted up + Awesome + Beautiful. Keep writing
Spring is always welcome but its worrying when a season seems to be missed. You conveyed this message well and as much as you embraced spring's beauty, there should have been "a white flowing gown Covering the earth all around me". So glad we got to see this burst of spring through your lens. Very enjoyable poem and beautiful images, thank you and thanks to Movie Master for bringing me here. My votes to you, Jackie.
Very nice, and well written. GBY
